Perennial plants
Perennial plants represent one of the largest groups of plants, which offer spectacular colors throughout the year, fragrance, shapes, textures through a wide variety of sizes that fit any size and style of the landscaped spaces. Traditionally, they are found in English-style borders, using walls or hedges as a background to create the focal point of summer. Considering the fact that not all spaces are large enough to form these English borders entirely of perennials, they are usually used in combinations with ornamental shrubs, annuals, biennials and bulbs, which leads to an extension of the period of interest. Although some perennial plants are evergreen, the vast majority enter vegetative rest in autumn and emerge with freshness every spring. While the borders remain bare in winter, the flowers and dried stems of some perennials, including Rudbeckia, Echinops, Echinacea and Hylotelephiums, form a beautiful landscape when the others have disappeared.
